Palatka Porchfest is a free music festival where bands play from the front porches of the South Historic District on the first Saturday in December. Hummingbird House is in that neighborhood, and its porch is one of the stages. You do not walk to this festival; it comes to you.
When is Palatka Porchfest?
The 2025 festival ran Saturday, December 6, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with parking along Laurel Street. The 2026 date is listed as Saturday, December 5. It is free and family-friendly, run by a nonprofit, and the stages are the porches of the historic homes around the house. Confirm the date and lineup on the festival’s own site.
What is it like to stay in the middle of it?
Coffee on the porch in the morning while the neighborhood sets up. Music from late morning until evening, within a few blocks in every direction, so you can wander between porches and come back to your own. Then a fire in the gas fireplace, something on the stove, and the quiet of a December night in the historic district.
Why Hummingbird House for Porchfest?
- You are inside the festival footprint. The South Historic District is the venue.
- The porch. Long, covered, and furnished with wicker. In December it is the best seat in town.
- Sleeps six, with a king, a queen, and a daybed on the landing until a queen Murphy bed arrives, plus a Pack ’n Play.
- Parking at the house, which matters on a day when the neighborhood streets fill.
- A kitchen and a gas fireplace for the evening after.
Make a weekend of it
Palatka’s Christmas parade runs down St. Johns Avenue on the Friday after Thanksgiving, a week before Porchfest, and St. Augustine’s Nights of Lights runs from late November into January, about 40 minutes east. See the festival calendar and our St. Augustine day trip.
